The New Liszt Ferenc Chamber Choir is a select group of current students and recent graduates of the Liszt Academy of Budapest.

The aim of the choir is to maintain the quality choral tradition established by the original Liszt Ferenc Chamber Choir and its founder prof. István Párkai in the 1960-s.

This tradition is based ont he desire to perform the usual choral repertoire as well as less well known and unique segments of the choral repertoire, to be present in the musical life of Hungary and thus manifest the high quality general musical training at the Liszt Academy.

The aim of the choir is also to develop a sound quality based on identical individual vocal training and musicality of the members, rely on their high degree of sensitivity and musical intelligence.

We belive choral singing is one of the most rewarding chamber music activity and as such is an integral part of the musical life and attracts special attention.

The New List Ferenc Chamber Choir gave its first concert at the Partium Christian University in Nagyvárad on April 17, 2010. Since than their concerts attract ever growing interest and achieve great success.

Founder musical director of the choir is Peter Erdei, associate professor of choral conducting at the Liszt Academy, Liszt- and Bartók-Pásztory prize holder, „Merited Artist” of Hungary.
